History of Fashion is jam-packed with information. Starting chronologically from the famous Dior show, it covers everything from Cristóbal Balenciaga’s first job in fashion (he was 11 years old) to bloggers rising to power and luxury boom in China. Although fashion is presented from different sides, the main focus of this book is still on designers, and you will find many lesser-known names that make the story even more colorful and interesting. It is structured by short topics, so you can easily start reading anywhere. And once you did, you just wouldn’t want to stop!
Needless to say, this book is a must have for everyone: it is gorgeous, entertaining, informative… But there is one more thing: if you have been following fashion for some time, you would probably like to know not only what fashion was, but also what it will become. The roots of the future are in the present and as you read this book, you might get inspired to create the tomorrow’s big thing. Maybe you are the next Mary Katrantzou or Natalie Massenet, who knows?
